Oh yes fiber is said to be good for the health since it helps avoid constipation and reduces the risk of many diseases like heart disease, cancer, diabetes and many more. However, just how much is too much?

Recent research reveal that eating too much fiber also has its disadvantages. Fiber when eaten too much may cause gas, diarrhea, general abdominal discomfort, possible blockages or the need for urgent movements. Some research points to the inability to absorb certain nutrients, but other research refutes that.

So in case you are wondering how much fiber intake is ideal, it is estimated that one should only get 12-15 grams of fiber per day. Nevertheless, staying less than 45 grams of fiber will surely clear you of any of these side effects.
